Four elements make up the basic Driver CPC qualification. Before receiving their complete vocational driving licence, drivers must pass both the theory and practical tests.
The other two components are optional; a driver only needs to complete them if they want to be able to operate buses, coaches, or lorries professionally. Drivers now have the option to either get their full Driver CPC at once or just their vocational licence.
CPC Expiration
To demonstrate an ongoing commitment to learning as well as accountability and dedication as a Certified Preplanning Consultant or Associate CPC, the National Funeral Directors Association requires that a CPC. Every four years, or Associate CPC, must renew their qualification.
Driver CPC theory tests
Part one – Theory test.
The theoretical test consists of two sections: a multiple-choice test and a test of hazard perception. The 100-question multiple-choice exam lasts 1 hour and 55 minutes. 85% is the current passing score. There are a total of 20 scorable hazards in the 19 video clips that make up the theory test’s hazard perception section. A pass requires a score of 67%, and each danger is worth a maximum of 5 points.
No matter what sequence the driver completes the tests, they must be taken separately by the driver. The driver will receive a certificate for the theoretical exam as long as both tests are passed within two years of one another. After passing the Driver CPC Module 1 test, the driver must pass the Module 3 driving test within two years, failing which the Driver CPC Module 1 theoretical test will need to be retaken.
Part two – Case studies
The driver completes seven case studies on a computer as part of the test. The case studies are essentially brief scenarios based on events that are quite likely to occur in a truck driver’s working life.
Experts in the field wrote the exam, which includes scenarios that a truck driver would encounter on the road. On each of the seven case studies, the driver is given between six and eight multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 80%, and the entire test takes 1 hour and 55 minutes.
There are many queries regarding How to get a CPC Card. The driver must complete and pass the Driver CPC module 4 practical demonstration test within the two-year validity period in order to avoid having to retake the module 2 case studies test.
Practical Tests
Practical test of driving ability
The driving ability test is a practical exam that takes around an hour and 30 minutes to complete and consists of the following:
- Auto safety concerns
- Using roads safely
- Off-road activities
Driver CPC practical test – vehicle safety demonstration
The Driver CPC Module 4 is an interactive test that requires the driver to demonstrate and explain a variety of tasks that, in addition to driving, a truck driver must perform. The driver is examined for this module on their capacity to:
- Make sure to load the vehicle safely and that the load is kept secure.
- Stop the trafficking of undocumented immigrants
- Evaluate crisis circumstances
- Perform a thorough walk-around vehicle safety inspection
Drivers must successfully complete all four elements to receive the full Driver CPC qualification. They simply need to take and pass parts one and three if they only intend to use their occupational licence occasionally.
